Jorge Crespo Berdecio was born to Bolivian parents.
He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Costa Rica in 1992, where he specialized in engraving.
Crespo is a master printmaker. In his studio, he creates editions for other artists. He teaches and prints with his wife. His work has been published in various magazines and newspapers in Costa Rica, the United States, Spain, Peru, Mexico & Bolivia.
He won the 2003 Grand de Oro painting prize, as well as prizes for his etchings in the 1990s.
Spain, Mexico, Peru and Bolivia have exhibited his work. He has also had many exhibitions in San Jose, Costa Rica.
